Hurricane Irma formed on August 30, 2017 and became a Category 5 hurricane when it grew to 185 miles per hour wind gusts. Hurricane Irma was the third-costliest hurricane on record causing more than $100 billion dollars in damage (2017 USD). There were 134 fatalities as of October 10th.
